Melissa Craig, President

Melissa Craig has been an animal lover for some time and discovered a passion for animal advocacy over the past few years. By day, Melissa provides strategic guidance to corporate and trade association grassroots and PAC programs. Most of her free time is spent on animal rescue. Melissa lives in Reston with her two rescue cats, Obie and Lenny.

Shannon McGuire

Shannon McGuire’s compassion and empathy for animals began at an early age.  Growing up in Southwest Virginia, she began rehabbing and saving distressed local wildlife as a teenager.  Shannon spends her days working in sales and the breadth of her personal time working with and for animals.  Supporting efforts on both the local and national level, she is an avid animal advocate who has fostered, worked with trap and release programs, transports, and rescues.   She lives in Powhatan with her husband, Travis, and their vivacious rescues.

Sue Bell

Sue Bell is the Founder & Executive Director of Homeward Trails Animal Rescue, based in Arlington, VA. Since founding the organization in 2002, Homeward Trails has rescued more than 17,000 homeless animals. Sue has been working on local advocacy issues around shelter improvements, tethering, pet store restrictions, hoarding and other animal welfare issues since 2003. She joined Humane Dominion in 2013. Sue also serves on the Board of the Virginia Federation of Humane Societies and received their 2014 Bravo Award for her work advocating for animals in Virginia.

Ashley Froman, Treasurer

Ashley Froman has been a life-long advocate for animals. Ashley spends her days working in medical sales but spends the bulk of her personal time assisting with animal welfare efforts.  She is an ardent supporter of multiple local and national animal rescue groups, fosters dogs for Henrico Humane, and on any given Saturday can be found walking dogs for Richmond Animal Care and Control. She also regularly transports animals to rescue and has engaged in significant philanthropy and fundraising efforts for animal protection organizations. She lives in Richmond with her beloved Labrador, Riley, and her newly rescued poodle, Lexi.
